Playtime
Guinea pigs LOVE to cuddle and have fun. But what is "fun" and what is "unsafe"? For instance, putting a towel down in a decent-sized cardboard box with toys and some food is a perfect way to let your guinea pig run around without it getting under the bed. Always put a towel down when letting your guinea pig run because they will pee/poop on your bed/floor/rug/table and might stain it. If you want to take your piggy outside to get some fresh air, make sure when you bring him/her out that you have a nice secure spot to hold/put your piggy down. Always have a fence or gate blocking him/her from escaping into the "unknown".
Nail Clipping
Nail clipping is probably one of the hardest things about caring for a guinea pig. They are often squirmy and do not appreciate people messing around with their feet. If you feel uncomfortable or cannot get your guinea pig to let you clip it's nails, you can talk to your local vet and ask them for help. If you feel that you can follow these steps, I would highly recommend it:
- Firmly hold the paw of your piggy
- Locate the pinkish spot on one of the nails. That is the blood cell area. DO NOT CLIP THE PINK PART.
- Cut the nail close to the pink spot but not the pink spot itself. That will cause bleeding.
- Repeat. For people with dark-toed guinea pigs, cut just the tips about every 1-2 weeks
- Ta Da!!! **Warning: Guinea pigs nails will be pretty sharp after cutting**

The Basics: Bathing
Lather, rinse, repeat. These are the first three steps to bathing your guinea pig. After putting your pig in the sink, fill the sink with lukewarm water, lather them with small animal shampoo and rinse. After cleansing thoroughly dry off your pet and place them back into the cage
Just finished sleepaway
Hi again. As you can see, I just got back and am now ready to answer any comments that you may post
Basic Care: Supplies
To own a guinea pig, you need supplies. Hay, Bedding, Pellets, a Cage and a Carrier are must haves.

The Basics: Grooming
Grooming is pretty simple: you put the piggy on your lap and stroke them gently with the brush. Guinea pigs often enjoy this and it is a good way to bond with your furry friend.
